History of Newington Community Centre

Newington Community Centre was built in the 70's to provide a hub for the Community.

It was for many years run by the local authority with support of the Residents Association at the time.

Newington Community Association (NCA02) took over the running of Newington Community Centre from Thanet District Council in July 2007 and was officially opened by Steve Ladyman in 2008.

On taking over we carried out various improvements including replacing the windows, installing disabled facilities, an office and a larger kitchen which is available for use by all hirers, plus we installed a dividing wall in the main hall to create two smaller spaces.

Also we now have wi-fi installed for use by hall hirers.
